Launched in 1977 and hailed as Britain’s first supercar, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage took the hand-built 5.3-litre V8 from Newport Pagnell and gave it high-performance camshafts, a higher compression ratio, larger valves and bigger carburettors. A closed-off bonnet bulge, a blanked grille with twin driving lamps and a bootlid spoiler set it apart from the standard V8.
From 1986 the Vantage was offered with the X-Pack engine, the 580X, rated at 403 bhp, the final factory specification of the car. Only 534 V8 Vantages were built between 1977 and 1989, 342 of them saloons. Our debut model captures the X-Pack saloon from those final years.
The Stirling Scale model is in Suffolk Red. Its dimensions and proportions are taken from precision scan data of the real car, and it is finished with felted carpets, raised badges and a detailed V8 engine bay under the opening bonnet.
